Stuart aka Brian

(it's all about the beard)

Hello, I play bass for Position Absolute.

I have been playing bass for about 16 years and over the course of time have been very fortunate to play in some great bands, ranging from all our hardcore to where I am now. Each band has been very enjoyable but I believe that now I have found my home in Position Absolute.

I joined the band in 2006 although due to my knack of being totally accident prone I almost didnt make my audition after slamming my thumb in a car door.

I really enjoy rocking out with some of the best musicians I have ever met and more importantly 3 guys I consider to be my very best friends.

When I joined, the band was going through a transition period, as not only had the bassist left (to my luck) but also the vocalist. I knew James from my previous band and was desperate to get him down as I knew his vocals would fit the band perfectly but fate was against us, everytime we tried to sort out an audition something would go wrong. We had all but given up but decided in 2008 to give it one more attempt and the rest as they say is history.......

Equipment:

I love Ibanez basses, these are my main toys, Ibanez SRX505, Ibanez Ergodyne EDB, Ibanez Ergodyne EDC series basses.

For my bass amp I use an SWR550X bass head with SWR WorkingPro Cabs. Nice.

I also love to use as many weird and wonderful effects as I can, including distortion, wah, whammy and synth effects.

Influences:

My main idols when it comes to the bass are Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, Duff McKagan from Guns'N'Roses and Sean Yseult from White Zombie.

The main bands I draw influence musically from are:
Motley Crue
Pearl Jam
Alice In Chains
Faith No More
Soundgarden
Machine Head
White Zombie
Mudvayne

Other Bands I Love Include:

Slipknot, Stone Sour, Muse, Drowning Pool, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Korn, American Head Charge, Rage Against The Machine, Hurt, Static-X, Rammstein, Rob Zombie and Godhead

Our Songs:

My favourite Position Absolute tracks at the moment are All Time Low and Shadow Men.

Live though I think my favourite track to play is Rage On Me (growly vocal time)

I do have to make it clear that the views of the song The Order are not my views or beliefs.
